NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Freshman Gavin Simon (Monticello, Minn.) of the Southern New Hampshire University ice hockey team has been named the Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday.
Simon recorded a goal and an assist in Friday night's win over Northeast 10-leading Assumption at the Worcester Ice Center. His short-handed tally in the third period marked the first goal of his collegiate career.
The Penmen return to action on Tuesday at O'Brien Rink in Woburn, Mass., when they take on Westfield State at 5:45 p.m. The teams will also partner for a Food Drive as part of "Hockey Fights Hunger."
