SNHU Indoor Track & Field sits in third-place after the first day of the Northeast-10 Championships in Boston with a win in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR). Senior
Tori Allen (Litchfield, N.H.) set a new program record in the Pentathlon.
HIGHLIGHTS
- SNHU won the DMR relay in 12:47.73 with the legs run by junior Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands), junior Maggie McInerney (Acton, Mass.), freshman Erika Wojcik (No. Andover, Mass.) and freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.).
- In the Pentathlon, Allen set the program record with 3040 points while finishing second. She set new PR's in the 60H and high jump.
- Graduate student Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) finished third in the weight throw at 14.66m
- The Penmen collected four team points with top-eight finishes in the 5000m for sophomore Deirdre Bailat (No. Billerica, Mass.) and junior Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.).
- Sophomore Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) finished 5th in the 60H in 9.11. That broke her week-old program record for the event.
- Junior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) has qualified for Sunday's 60m final.
- Both Maggie McInerney and freshman Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) will run in the 400m final
NOTES
- Sophomore Madison Lyons (Mansfield, Conn.) competed in the Pentathlon for the first time and finished seventh with 2576 points and new PR's in the 60H, high jump, and 800m.
- New PR's were established by freshman Paige Zimmerman (Bedford, N.H.) in the 200m and sophomore Kay Wheelock (Milford, Mass.) in the 400m
