Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) finished in sixth place in the 400m final as SNHU Indoor Track & Field competed Saturday in the New England Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Sippel ran a 58.73 for the 400m, the fifth fastest time in qualifying Friday. She finished sixth in 58.23 in the final. Her season-best mark is 58.16.
- In the mile, freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) ran a PR of 5:12.77, finishing 13th.
- Three Penmen ran in the Saturday afternoon 3000m. Junior Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) was 14th in 10:50.4 to lead SNHU.
- Junior Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) ran a PR finishing at 11:05.56 (17th place), and just ahead of sophomore Deirdre Bailat (No. Billerica, Mass.) 11:06.33 (18th place).
- Sophomore Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) turned in a 9.28 in her prelim heat of the 60H.
NOTES
- The Rhode Island Women's Track & Field team won the meet (134) over Quinnipiac (109) and Holy Cross (97).
WHAT'S NEXT
- SNHU will open the Outdoor Track & Field season with the first of two home meets, the SNHU Spring Invite, on March 29th.
- The Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship will be hosted by SNHU at Ouellette Stadium on May 2-3, 2025.
