Freshman Sophie Chevalier (Charlton, N.Y.) posted 13 kills and a career-high 12 digs, and sophomore Jordyn Carroll (Moultonborough, N.H.) rattled off a career-best 10 kills, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Assumption University on Tuesday evening at the Stan Spirou Field House.
KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU held a 24-23 edge in the opening set when a Chevalier kill put it up, 1-0, in the match.
- The second set was even at 17-all, but Assumption scored eight of the next 12 points to even the match.
NOTES
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Assumption, 23-19, but has now lost three-in-a-row. The loss also snaps a seven-match home winning streak for the Penmen, as the Greyhounds win at the Field House for the first time since Oct. 16, 2012 (3-2).
- Junior Daya Jean-Baptiste (Miami, Fla.) recorded six kills, five blocks and an ace.
- Sophomore Ariana Davila (Austin Texas) dished 29 assists.
- Graduate student Meri Ibrahimi (Woburn, Mass.) collected 12 digs and an ace.
- Senior Brooke Vaughan (Truckee, Calif.) tallied 10 kills and a pair of aces.
