Freshman Sophie Chevalier (Charlton, N.Y.) posted six kills and seven digs, while senior Alexandra Friebolin (Plant City, Fla.) added four kills and three blocks, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team closed the opening weekend with a 3-0 loss to the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at the Stan Spirou Field House.

- This was the first meeting all-time between the two programs.
- The Golden Eagles wound up 4-0 against the East Region, including wins over Assumption University, Saint Anselm College and Felician University.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen are back in action Friday, Sept. 12 (11 a.m.) when they open the Texas Woman's University Volleyfest against the University of Texas at Tyler. The Penmen will play a total of four matches in Denton, Texas, with two Friday and two more Saturday.
