Men's Lacrosse Picked Sixth in NE10 Coaches' Poll

Penmen Open 2026 Season on February 9 at Ouellette Stadium

NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse team was chosen sixth in the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Friday.

Defending NE10 and back-to-back National Champion Adelphi University is the preseason pick among the conference coaches, picking up eight of the nine first-place votes. NE10 Runner-Up Saint Anselm College received the other first-place vote and is tabbed second. Pace University is slotted third, ahead of Bentley University and Assumption University. The Penmen finished with 31 points and are ranked ahead of Saint Michael's College, Franklin Pierce University, and American International College.

Head coach Paul Calkins will begin his 38th season leading the Penmen.  He is the longest-tenured active head coach at one school at the Division II level.  The Penmen went 5-9 overall (3-5 NE10) during the 2025 season.

Three of the four SNHU players who received NE10 All-Conference recognition last season will return in 2026.   Junior Sean Dwyer (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) was named to the Northeast-10 Third-Team last season after leading the Penmen with 19 goals and finishing third with 28 points.  Junior Joey Gallo (Derry, N.H.) led the Penmen in scoring last season with 35 points, including 16 goals and 19 assists.   Also returning for the Penmen is senior Aiden Blouin (Barre, Vt.).  The mid-fielder had a solid season with 15 goals and eight assists.

Sophomore Blake Wozniak (Garden Grove, Calif.) and sophomore Charlie Pisciotta (Locust Valley, N.Y.) were both named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team last season and are back for a second year.  Wozniak tallied 16 goals including five goals against Dominican in the March 12 win.  Pisciotta, a long stick middle, helped anchor the defense.

Junior Matt Roy (No. Andover, Mass.) is the most experienced returning goalie, having started and played more than any other athlete at the position last season.  Returning juniors who started every game last season include Matt's triplet brother, Patrick Roy (No. Andover, Mass.), Sean Mandel (Guilford, Conn.), Kyle Beckett (Monroe, Conn.), and Luke Wiedemann (Cheshire, Conn.).

Graduate student Christian Perez (Methuen, Mass.), senior goalie John Batchelor (Longmeadow, Mass.), and defenseman Logan Campbell (Westbrook, Maine) are back in 2026.    There are 16 first-year players on the team.

Perez, Blouin, and Dwyer have been tabbed as captains.

The Penmen will open the 2026 season at home on Monday, February 9 (2:00 p.m.) against Felician University.  Other home contests this season are against Molloy University (2/14), Adelphi University (3/29), Bentley University (4/1), Dominican University (4/8), Saint Anselm College (4/15) and American International College (4/18).
