Parker Lendrum (Exeter, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team was named the NE10 Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 1, the league office announced Monday.
Lendrum spun a complete-game, two-hit shutout in a 10-0 victory over D'Youville University in game two of Saturday's doubleheader. Lendrum, who struck out a career-high 13 and walked just one, retired 10-in-a-row at one point and bookended his performance by setting down eight straight.
In two starts this season, Lendrum is 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA, striking out 17 and walking just three, while allowing 11 hits, over 12-and-two-thirds innings.
Lendrum and the Penmen (5-3) return to action next weekend for a pair of noon doubleheaders with Thomas Jefferson University on Saturday (March 7) and Sunday (March 8) at the Ripken Experience in Aberdeen, Md.
