FLUSHING, N.Y. – Graduate student Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.), and juniors Casey Cumiskey (Milltown, N.J.) and Joel Valera (Boston, Mass.), all of the 25th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team, were recognized with Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team honors, with five total Penmen earning the accolades that were announced Monday.
Junior Jack Davis (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) and graduate student Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) both claimed spots on the Second Team, giving the Penmen five honorees, which was second best in the region. Bentley University had six make the team, while Wilmington (Del.) University matched SNHU with five.

McNamara, who was named the NE10 Player of the Week on April 13 and then chosen as the NCBWA National Hitter of the Week three days later, ranked seventh in the region in home runs and 11th in RBI. He was one of seven players in the NE10 with a 1.000 fielding percentage, as he handled all 72 of his chances in center. McNamara, who missed the final 11 games of the season with an injury, placed 10th in the SNHU single-season record book in home runs.
The Penmen finished 41-14, including 30-6 in the NE10 to win the regular-season title and claim the top seed, before falling in the NE10 finals. SNHU then earned its 13th NCAA tournament berth, receiving the East Region's No. 3 seed, but went 1-2 in the East Regional II pod to fall a game short of the final.
