SOUTHEASTON, Mass. - The Southern New Hampshire
University women's cross country team was picked to finish in
13th place in the Northeast-10 Conference championship.
The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon by the conference
office. Stonehill College, the defending NE-10 Conference champion
received all but one first place vote while being selected to
repeat this season.
Bentley University would receive the other first place vote and
be picked to finished 2nd, while Southern Connecticut,
UMass Lowell and Merrimack would round out the top five,
respectively.
The Penmen had its best performances in the 2011-12 season at
the UMass Dartmouth Invitational where it finished 18th
out of 37 teams and at the Codfish Bowl in Franklin Park where it
came in 11th place out of 23 teams. At the Northeast-10
Championship, SNHU would finish 13th, while coming in
16th place in the NCAA East Regional.
SNHU will open its 2012 campaign on September 8 when it travels
to Saint Anselm for the Shacklette Invitational. The race will
begin at 11:00 am
