Baseball Splits With Minnesota Duluth

GAME 1 BOX SCORE     GAME 2 BOX SCORE

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Southern New Hampshire University baseball team split a doubleheader with the University of Minnesota Duluth on Sunday.  The Bulldogs took the first game by a score of 11-3, while the Penmen took down a 1-0 win in the nightcap.  SNHU is now 2-6 on the season.

Bill Murray (Canton, MA) would provide all the offense the Penmen would need in the second game as he belted a solo home run as part of a 2-2 effort at the plate.  Mike Evans (Seabrook, NH) pitched six innings of the seven inning contest to earn the victory, while Steve Golbranson (Abington, MA) pitched the seventh to earn the save.

In the first game, Skyler Byrd (Milford, NH) belted a two-run home run in the top of the fourth that closed UMD's lead to 4-2, but the Bulldogs would plate seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to take an 11-2 lead.  Jeff Giannino (Beverly, MA) went 2-4 for Southern New Hampshire.

SNHU is slated to open Northeast-10 play on Wednesday when it travels to Assumption College.  Game time is slated for 3:30 pm.
