MANCHESTER, N.H. - Carole Lee (Derry, NH)
led 11 different Southern New Hampshire University players in the
scoring column with three goals as the Penmen cruised to a 19-6
Northeast-10 women's lacrosse victory over Franklin Pierce
University at Larkin Field Tuesday afternoon. SNHU remained
unbeaten in NE-10 play at 4-0 in the league and is 4-2 overall,
while the Ravens are 1-2 and 0-1 in conference action.
Lee was one of seven Penmen to
record multiple goals. Jami Shugrue (Lowell,
MA) totaled two goals and three assists for a team-high five
points, while Libby Parent (Hinesburg, VT),
Jennifer Parro (Ipswich, MA) and Laura
Rotolo (Waltham, MA) each had two goals and an
assist. Jenna Whittemore (Whiting, VT) and
Alyssa Johnson (Nashua, NH) each scored
twice. Nicole Downey (Rutland, VT) notched a
goal and three assists, while Sherry Darrell (Bow,
NH) had a goal and two helpers. Emmalee
Willis (Hingham, MA) had a goal and an assist while
Brittany Whiteway (Billerica, MA) added a goal.
Lauren Stille
(North Quincy, MA) recorded all six Franklin Pierce goals on the
afternoon.
SNHU jumped out to a 3-0 lead 5:32
into the contest on Whiteway's goal, but back-to-back goals by
Stille, the second at the 23:22 mark of the first half, made it a
3-2 game. From there, the Penmen took control, as they would
close out the first half with eight unanswered goals to take a 10-2
halftime lead on a Shugrue tally. The Penmen would maintain
at least an eight goal lead the rest of the way.

(Norwich, CT) turned away 11 shots for Southern New Hampshire as
the Penmen outshot Franklin Pierce 34-26. Raven goalie
Chanice Franklyn (Chappaqua, NY) turned aside nine
Penmen attempts.
Southern New Hampshire kicks off a
three-game Long Island swing when it faces Molloy College on the
road Thursday at 4:00.
