Host Bryant University pounded out 23 hits and cruised to a 17-2
Northeast-10 baseball victory over Southern New Hampshire
University Tuesday afternoon at Bryant Field. The Bulldogs
improved to 13-10 overall and 2-2 in NE-10 play, while the Penmen
are now 2-10 and 0-4 in the league.
Bryant scored in all but two
innings and had at least three runs in four separate frames.
Taylor Ferguson and Mark Dondero led the Bulldogs with four hits
apiece, with Ferguson recording a home run and four runs batted
in. Four other players had multi-hit games for the hosts.
Jeff Giannino
(Beverly, MA) was 2-3 at the plate to lead Southern New
Hampshire. He got the Penmen on the board with a solo home
run in the fifth inning. Skyler Byrd
(Milford, NH) drove in the other Penmen run in the sixth when his
sacrifice fly to center plated Tim Rines
(Northfield, NH).
Dan Lozeau allowed five hits in
seven innings of work to earn the victory for Bryant.
Bryant Gauthier (Lynn, MA) pitched the first four
innings for Southern New Hampshire and took the loss.
Bryant and SNHU meet again Thursday
afternoon at Bryant.
