MANCHESTER, N.H. - Fifteen players scored at least one
goal as No. 10 Southern New Hampshire University cruised to a 21-5
Northeast-10 women's lacrosse victory over American International
College at Larkin Field Tuesday afternoon. The Penmen
improved to 8-5 overall and 7-1 in the NE-10, while the Yellow
Jackets are now 0-12 and 0-6 in the league.
Sherry Darrell
(Bow, NH) paced SNHU with two goals and three assists.
Nikki Downey (Rutland, VT) totaled three goals and
an assist while Laura Rotolo (Waltham, MA) added
three goals. Libby Parent (Hinesburg, VT)
added two goals and an assist while Carole Lee
(Derry, NH) totaled two goals. Senior Monica
Frisbee (Bennington, VT) registered her first collegiate
goal in the victory.
Alexis Castro led AIC with three
goals and an assist.
Kara Kirkland gave the Yellow
Jackets a 1-0 lead 50 seconds into the game, but Southern New
Hampshire would score 14 unanswered goals in the first half to take
a 14-1 halftime lead. The Penmen scored the first two goals
of the second half to up their lead to 16-1 and maintained at least
a 13-goal lead the rest of the way.
Katie Clark
(Norwich, CT) made six saves for Southern New Hampshire as it
outshot AIC 38-11.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action on Saturday when it travels to Bryant University for a noon
contest.
