Women's Lacrosse Edges Saint Thomas Aquinas

SPARKILL, N.Y. - Sherry Darrell (Bow, NH) totaled five goals and four assists for nine points as 10th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University closed out its regular season with a 19-18 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College in women's lacrosse Sunday morning.  The Penmen improved to 11-5 overall while the Spartans finish their season 5-11.

Laura Rotolo (Waltham, MA) finished with four goals for SNHU, which also got two goals and an assist from Nikki Downey (Rutland, VT).  Carole Lee (Derry, NH) and Alyssa Johnson (Nashua, NH) each got two goals, while Jennifer Parro (Ipswich, MA) totaled a goal and an assist.  Libby Parent (Hinesburg, VT), Julie Kraus (Derry, NH) and Emmalee Willis (Hingham, MA) each tallied single goals.  Aimee Colon led STAC with five goals and three assists.

Katie Clark (Norwich, CT) made 11 saves for Southern New Hampshire, which outshot Saint Thomas Aquinas 34-30.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Friday when it hosts a Northeast-10 Tournament semifinal game.  The second-seeded Penmen will face the winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal between third-seeded Bryant and No. 6 seed Bentley.
