Host Stonehill College pounded out 16 hits en route to a 13-4
Northeast-10 baseball victory over Southern New Hampshire
University at Lou Gorman Field Sunday afternoon. The Skyhawks
improve to 23-19 overall and 14-11 in Northeast-10 play, while the
Penmen are now 7-30 and 5-23 in the league.
Stonehill owned a 4-0 lead after
three innings and used a five-run sixth to take a 9-2 lead.
Dave Fradette was 4-5 with five RBI for the Skyhawks, while Angelo
Bruno was 4-4 with three RBI.
Southern New Hampshire got on the
board in the top of the fifth when Skyler Byrd
(Milford, NH) belted a two-run home run down the left field
line. The Penmen score their other two runs in the
seventh. A triple by Bill Murray (Canton,
MA) scored Eric Pelletier (Beverly, MA), while
Murray would later score on a wild pitch.
Murray finished with two hits and
scored a pair of runs. Bryant Gauthier
(Lynn, MA) took the loss for SNHU, starting and working the first
2.2 innings. The Skyhawks outhit the Penmen 16-7.
SNHU is idle until Friday when it
hosts Bentley College in a 3:30 contest at Penmen Field.
