NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Host Southern Connecticut State University held the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team to just a pair of hits as it posted a 8-0 victory in Northeast-10 action Tuesday at The Ballpark at SCSU.  The Owls improve to 14-14 overall and 4-5 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 4-18 and 2-12 in the league.

Owl hurler Jim Fuller allowed just a pair of hits, a single by Tim Rines (Northfield, NH) in the fourth and a double by Bill Murray (Canton, MA) in the seventh.  Fuller struck out 10 and allowed just a pair of walks.

Southern Connecticut scored three times in the bottom of the first to take a 3-0 lead, then scored single runs in the second, fourth and sixth before tacking on two more runs in the seventh.  Mike Evans (Seabrook, NH) took the loss, allowing 11 hits and five earned runs in 5.2 innings of work.

Southern New Hampshire plays its home opener Wednesday afternoon when it hosts Assumption College at 3:30 pm.
