Bentley Uses Five-Run Seventh to Get Past Baseball

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Visiting Bentley College scored five times in the top of the seventh to rally past Southern New Hampshire University and post an 8-3 Northeast-10 baseball victory Friday afternoon.  The Falcons, who remain in the hunt for an NE-10 tournament berth, improve to 21-24 overall and 16-13 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are 7-31 and 5-24 in the league.

Brett Damato and Charlie Pagliarulo led Bentley's 13-hit attack with three hits apiece.  Pagliarulo also drove in three runs.  Tim Rines (Northfield, NH) and Eric Pelletier (Beverly, MA) led Southern New Hampshire with two hits apiece.

Bentley trailed 3-1 heading into the seventh when it scored five times to take a 6-3 lead.  The Falcons pounded out five hits, including two-run singles by Pagliarulo and Garrett Stenhouse.  James Roche drove in the other run with a single.

SNHU took a 3-0 lead with single runs in the first, second and fifth innings.  Skyler Byrd (Milford, NH) doubled to right in the first to score Rines, who reached on a double deep to left.  Ryan Thompson (Westford, MA) worked a bases-loaded walk in the second to score Joe Santos (Holliston, MA).  Rines drove in the third run in the fifth when his single plated Pelletier.

Bentley got on the board in the sixth when Stenhouse scored on a Pagliarulo single.  The Falcons tacked on two more runs in the ninth when it got RBIs from Chris Hardy and Damato.

Chris Dupay earned the win for Bentley, allowing seven hits in a complete game effort.  Ryan Quinn (Lebanon, CT) worked the first 6.1 innings for SNHU and took the loss, allowing seven hits while fanning six.

SNHU wraps up the season Saturday when it travels to Bentley for a single game at 1:00.
