DAY TWO DOUBLES RESULTS

PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Amber Chandronnait (Bow, NH) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the singles tournament of the Wilson/ITA East Regional at Chestnut Hill College Saturday.

Chandronnait, who is seeded fifth, advanced to the semifinals by defeating Shakir Willett of Holy Family 6-0, 6-0 in the third round before dispatching of fourth-seeded Celise Sesanker of Concordia 6-2, 6-0.  She will face unseeded Cristina Oliveira of Concordia in Sunday's semifinals.

Sophomore Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over Saint Rose's Rebecca Moon before falling to second-seeded Laura Mocodeanu of Queens College in the quarterfinal round 6-0, 6-3.  Mocodeanu reached the quarters by defeating SNHU's Lauren Nigrelli (Westerly, RI) 6-0, 6-0.

Both of SNHU's double teams that advanced to Saturday were eliminated in the second round.  Chandronnait and Nigrelli were topped by Mocodeanu and Kirby Reiss of Queens 8-4.  Echeverry and Alison Waring (Westboro, MA) were ousted by Maria Mendes and Alyssa Morra of Queens 8-6.
