MANCHESTER, N.H. - Staci Passafiume totaled two goals and
four assists to lead third-ranked C.W. Post to a 17-6 women's
lacrosse victory over Southern New Hampshire University Friday
afternoon. The Pioneers improved to 2-1 overall, while the
Penmen are now 1-2 on the season.
Jaclyn Napoli recorded a team-high
three goals for C.W. Post, while Samantha Lyons notched two goals
and two assists. Taryn Crimi finished with two goals and an
assist while four other players each scored twice.
Emily Mongeau
(Westboro, MA) led Southern New Hampshire with a pair of goals,
while Sherry
Darrell (Bow, NH) totaled a goal and an assist.
Lucretia
Joy (Portland, ME), Carole Lee (Derry, NH)
and Libby
Parent (Hinesburg, VT) each had single tallies for the
Penmen.
C.W. Post scored the game's first
two goals before SNHU got on the board 6:54 into the game on a goal
by Parent. The Pioneers would build a 10-3 halftime lead and
scored the first three goals of the second half to up its advantage
to 13-3 with 22:47 to play in the game.
Sam Powers turned aside seven saves
in 56:06 of action to earn the win in goal for C.W. Post.
Katie
Clark (Norwich, CT) played the first half in goal for
SNHU and made four saves before giving way to Hannah Moriarty
(Chelmsford, MA), who stopped eight shots. The Pioneers held
a 42-19 shot advantage on the afternoon.
SNHU returns to action Sunday when
it hosts Molloy College in a 1:00 contest at Larkin Field.
