GOFFSTOWN, N.H. - The
Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team posted an 8-1
victory over The College of Saint Rose Saturday evening in
Northeast-10 action at the Goffstown YMCA. The Penmen
improved to 4-1 overall and in the league with the victory, while
the Golden Knights are now 2-8 and 1-3 in the league.
SNHU swept the three doubles
matches and were victorious in five of six singles contests.
Amber
Chandronnait (Bow, NH) and Catalina
Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) were 8-0 winners at No. 1
doubles, while Lauren Nigrelli
(Westerly, RI) and Alison Waring
(Westborough, MA) were 8-0 winners at No. 2. Courteney Blais
(Paxton, MA) and Meghan Welch (Mont
Vernon, NH) were 8-4 winners at third doubles.
In singles play, Chandronnait was a
6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 1, while Echeverry was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at
No. 2. Nigrelli, Waring and Welch were all victorious at No.
3, No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.
SNHU returns to action next
Saturday when it travels to Assumption College for a 1:00 match.
