YAPHANK, N.Y. - Molloy College swept a baseball doubleheader from Southern New Hampshire University Saturday by scores of 3-1 and 6-5 at Baseball Heaven on Saturday.  The Lions improve to 4-1 with the wins, while the Penmen now stand at 1-4 on the season.

In the first game, SNHU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.  Joe Gargan (Hudson, NH) led off the inning with a double to left field, then advanced to third on a balk by Molloy pitcher Justin Jorgensen.  Scott Strong (Naperville, IL) would drive Gargan in on a groundout to shortstop.

The Lions took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the third.  Carmine Pellechia reached on a one-out single then scored on a single to right by Patrick Walsh.  Walsh later scored when T.J. Southern New Hampshire found itself down 4-0 after one inning in game two, the big blow coming on a three-run home run by Robert LaRusso.  The Penmen would climb back, scoring twice in the fifth and three times in the sixth to take a 5-4 lead before Molloy scored twice in the bottom of the sixth of the seven-inning game.

In the fifth, Koby Thibault (Salisbury, MA) singled with one out, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Curtis Burke (Bristol, RI).  Eric Pelletier (Beverly, MA) cut the lead to 4-2 with his solo home run.  Southern New Hampshire belted two more home runs in the sixth, with Jeff Giannino (Beverly, MA) hitting a two-run home run that scored Strong, who led off the inning with a single.  Bob Wronski (Arlington, MA) scored the go-ahead run on a homer to left center.

Molloy reclaimed the lead when Steve Rodriguez reached on an error with one out, then later scored on a single by Joseph Menendez.  Frank Marchisello, pinch-running for Menendez, scored the winning run on a single by Pellechia.
