LOWELL, Mass. - UMass Lowell recorded a 5-1 Northeast-10
baseball victory over Southern New Hampshire University at
Lelacheur Park Tuesday night. The River Hawks improved to
17-11 overall and 9-7 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now
11-18-1 overall and 8-10-1 in the league.
UMass Lowell jumped out to a 1-0
lead in the bottom of the second, but the Penmen would tie the game
in the top of the third. Eric
Pelletier (Beverly, MA) singled with one away, then
after moving to third when Tim Rines (Merrimack,
NH) reached on an error, scored on a single to right by Bobby Wronski
(Arlington, MA).
The River Hawks reclaimed the lead
in the bottom of the third when Pat Devlin worked a leadoff walk
and scored on a single up the middle by Tim Keene. UML scored
twice in the fourth on back-to-back RBI singles by Matt Jacobs and
Jared Notargiacomo then added another run in the bottom of the
eighth.
Rines, Pelletier and Chris O'Neil
(Chelmsford, MA) each had two hits in the game for Southern New
Hampshire, with Pelletier extending his hitting streak to eight

Monroe (Hampton Falls, NH) worked seven innings and
allowed seven hits and five runs while recording seven strikeouts.
SNHU and UMass Lowell complete
their season series in Manchester Thursday afternoon at 3:30.
