SOUTH EASTON, Mass.
- Senior Mike Ball (Salem, NH) of the
Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse team was named the
Northeast-10 Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference
office Monday afternoon. In addition, freshman Andrew
Brown (Marshfield, MA) was named the league's Freshman of
the Week, and classmate Brendan O'Brien
(Hopkinton, MA) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Ball finished with 11 goals and
five assists in a 2-0 week for the Penmen last week. He
totaled four goals and a pair of assists in a 12-8 win over
Assumption Wednesday, then finished with 10 points on the strength
of seven goals and three assists in a 22-11 win against American
International Saturday. In the process, Ball became the
20th player in SNHU program history to record 100 career
points.
Brown registered seven goals and
three assists in last week's victories. He scored three times
in the win over Assumption then totaled four goals and three
assists in the AIC triumph.
O'Brien recorded a pair of wins in
goal last week for the Penmen. He stopped 12 of the 20 shots
on goal in the win over Assumption, then made eight saves in 38:04
of action against American International. For the week
O'Brien compiled a .588 save percentage and 8.57 goals-against
average.
