BOX SCORE

RINDGE, N.H. - Laura Rotolo (Waltham, MA) scored the only goal of overtime 1:12 into the first extra session to lift Southern New Hampshire University to a 17-16 double overtime Northeast-10 women's lacrosse win over Franklin Pierce University Tuesday evening at Sodexo Field.  The Penmen won their third in a row to improve to 7-3 and 4-1 in the Northeast-10, while the Ravens are 3-6 and 1-5 in the league.

Rotolo, Emily Mongeau (Westborough, MA) and Libby Parent (Hinesburg, VT) each had three goals to pace Southern New Hampshire.  Carole Lee (Derry, NH) totaled two goals and an assist, in the process becoming the third player in program history with 100 career goals, while Maura Murphy (Candia, NH) also had two goals.  Jennifer Parro (Ipswich, MA) handed out five assists, while Julie Kraus (Derry, NH) had a goal, four assists and five ground balls.  Her five ground balls give her 186 for her career to set a career program record, surpassing the 185 by former record holder Lisa McEachern.  Jade Antonangeli (Bourne, MA), Sara Halbich (Salem, NH) and Alyssa Johnson (Nashua, NH) all had single tallies for SNHU.

Lauren Stille paced Franklin Pierce with five goals, while Jordan Baillargeon had four goals and an assist.

Southern New Hampshire led by as many as five in the second half and held a 16-13 lead with 9:31 to play following Antonangeli's goal.  The Ravens would cut the lead to two 25 seconds later on Baillaregeon's fourth of the game, and would score the final three goals of regulation, with Ashley Moirano scoring with 34 seconds left to force overtime.

In overtime, Franklin Pierce controlled the draw, but turned the ball over 40 seconds into its possession.  Rotolo would score with 1:48 left in the first three-minute session, and after Lucretia Joy (Portland, ME) controlled the ensuing draw for the Penmen, SNHU was content to run out the clock.  Kraus would control the draw at the start of the second overtime and the guests would control possession the rest of the way.

Franklin Pierce led 2-1 5:25 into the game, but the Penmen would gradually pull away and built a 9-5 lead with 8:51 left on a goal by Rotolo.  Stille would make it 9-6 with 22 seconds left before halftime, but the Penmen would score twice in a 14-second span early in the second half to take an 11-6 lead on Mongeau's goal 1:38 in.

Katie Clark (Norwich, CT) made 13 saves in the first 50:29 for SNHU in goal before Hannah Moriarty (Chelmsford, MA) played the remainder of regulation and overtime without making a save.  Franklin Pierce netminder Jillian Bolduc made 14 saves in a complete-game effort as the Penmen outshot the Ravens 42-29.

SNHU returns to action Thursday when it travels across town to face Saint Anselm College in a 4:00 contest.
