BOSTON- The
Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team
finished 14th out of 23 schools competing in the Codfish
Bowl at Franklin Park Saturday morning.
The Penmen were led by sophomore
Emma Lundberg (Hebron, N.H.), who finished in
23rd out of 207 runners with a time of 19:42 for the 5K
course. It marks the second-fastest time in program history,
trailing only her school record 19:17 effort last week at the UMass
Dartmouth Invitational.
Junior Melissa
Hurley (Ashaway, R.I.) was the next highest SNHU finisher,
coming in 54th with a 20:35 effort. Freshman
Christina Montefusco (Danvers, Mass.) turned in
the best effort of her collegiate career to date, posting a 21:03
time for a 75th place finish.
Jacquelyn Dussault
(Manchester, N.H.) came in 86th with a 21:18 effort,
while Laura Durvin (North Scituate, R.I.) turned
in a time of 24:24 to place 178th.
The SNHU women's cross country team
returns to action next Saturday at the Gordon College Pop Crowell
Invitational.
