BOSTON - The
Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team
finished fourth among Division II schools and 32nd overall at the
New England Championship held Saturday at Franklin Park.
Junior Emma Lundberg (Hebron, N.H.) was SNHU's top finisher,
coming in fifth among Division II competitors and 114th overall
with a time of 19:25 for the 5K course. Freshman Madeline
Hayes (Newington, Conn.) was 209th with a 20:37 effort, while
Melissa Hurley (Ashaway, R.I.) finished three spots behind Hayes
with a 20:39 time. Christina Montefusco (Danvers, Mass.) also
finished the course in 20:39.
Christina Powell (Granby, Mass.) posted a time of 21:36, while
Jacquelyn Dussault (Manchester, N.H.) turned in a 22:47
effort. Kelsey Parker (Tewksbury, Mass.) rounded out the
Penmen finishers with a time of 23:28.
The SNHU women's cross country team returns to action October
22 when it competes at the Golden Knights Joust hosted by The
College of Saint Rose.
