Misenheimer, N.C.—Sherry Darrell (Bow,
N.H.) totaled four goals and two assists for the Southern New
Hampshire University women's lacrosse team but the Penmen could not
hold off No. 10 Pfeiffer University, falling 15-9 in non-conference
action. The loss drops the Penmen to 2-2 overall, while the
Falcons now stand at 7-2.
In addition to Darrell's four goals, Carole
Lee (Derry, N.H.) and Sara Halbich
(Salem, N.H.) contributed two goals apiece. Emily
Mongeau (Westborough, Mass.) added the other goal for
Southern New Hampshire.
After trailing 12-3 at the end of the first half, the Penmen
would hold the Falcons to only three goals in the second
half. Jessica Kennedy led the Falcons with three goals and
four assists, and Tory Binder added three goals and an
assist.
Hannah Moriarty (Chelmsford, Mass.) took the
loss in net for Southern New Hampshire, recording ten saves.
Caitlin Ryan played 51:13 in net and recorded 10 saves for Pfeiffer
before giving way to Kaitlin Booth, who recorded two saves of her
own.
The Penmen are idle until Thursday, when they continue their
tour of the Carolinas by traveling to Converse College in South
Carolina for a 12:00 p.m. start.
