FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.
– Host Nova Southeastern University posted a 13-8
baseball win over Southern New Hampshire University Wednesday
night. The Sharks improved to 16-15 overall, while the Penmen
are now 5-10.
The Penmen hit three home runs on
the evening. A solo shot by Thomas Quicker
(West Islip, N.Y.) in the top of the first gave SNHU a 1-0
lead. Bobby Wronski (Arlington, Mass.) led
off the fourth with a homer that cut Nova's lead to
4-3. Later in the inning, Tim Rines
(Merrimack, N.H.) hit a two-run blast that put SNHU back on top
5-4.
Nova Southeastern would plate five
runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 9-5 lead and after the
Penmen scored twice in the top of the sixth, the Sharks would add
two runs apiece in the sixth and seventh.
Rines and Quicker each had three
hits to pace the Penmen, while Wronski had two hits and drove in a
pair of runs.
Starter Steve
Golbranson (Abington, Mass.) took the loss for the Penmen,
allowing 10 hits and nine runs in four innings of work.
SNHU travels to Florida Tech for a
doubleheader Thursday.
