BOSTON –
Junior Emma Lundberg (Hebron, N.H.) of the
Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team
finished first among collegiate runners and fourth overall at the
43rd annual Codfish Bowl held at Franklin Park
Saturday. As a team the Penmen finished fifth out of 23
teams, fourth among college programs.
Lundberg ran a 5K time of 19:30 to
finish behind Joan Bohlke of New Balance Boston, Melissa Nash of
Boston Athletic Association and Anna Novick of the Greater Boston
Track Club.
Senior Melissa
Hurley (Ashaway, R.I.) placed 37th with a time
of 21:02, while Christina Montefusco (Danvers,
Mass.) ran a 21:10 to place 40th out of 243
runners. Madeline Hayes (Newington, Conn.)
ran a 21:28 to place 53rd, while Christina
Powell (Granby, Mass.) was 94th with a time of
22:37.
Jacquelyn Dussault
(Manchester, N.H.) placed 128th with a time of 23:27,
while Kelsey Parker (Tewksbury, Mass.) ran a
24:04. Cassandra Dolan (Manchester, N.H.)
(26:04) and Laura DiPietro (Candia, N.H.) (27:24)
rounded out the SNHU finishers.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action next Saturday at the Gordon College Pop Crowell
Invitational.
