NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
SOUTH EASTON,
Mass. – Southern New Hampshire University junior
women's cross country runner Emma Lundberg
(Hebron, N.H.) was named the Northeast-10 Athlete of the Week for
the third consecutive week, it was announced by the conference
office Tuesday afternoon.
Lundberg finished fourth overall
and first among college runners at the Codfish Bowl held at
Boston's Franklin Park on Saturday. Her time of 19:30
over the five-kilometer course helped lead SNHU to a fifth-place
finish in the 23-team meet, the program's best-ever at the
event.
Lundberg has finished in the top
six of all three races she has competed in this season and posted
three of the top five times in program history thus far in 2010,
including a school-record 18:16 at the UMass Dartmouth
Invitational. She became just the second Southern New
Hampshire female runner to capture first place at a race with her
victory at the Saint Anselm Shacklette Invitational on September
11.
The Southern New Hampshire
women's cross country team returns to action Saturday when it
travels to Gordon College to compete at the Pop Crowell
Invitational.
