Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H. –Freshman Phoebe Clark (Concord, N.H.) totaled eight goals to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a 18-10 win over Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 women's lacrosse Tuesday evening at SNHU's Larkin Field.  The Penmen won their third straight to improve to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the NE-10, while the Hawks are now 1-4 and 1-2 in the league.

Clark's eight goals place her one shy of the single-game school record of nine.  Emily Mongeau (Westborough, Mass.) finished with five goals for SNHU, while Kayleigh Dube (Bourne, Mass.) finished with two goals and two assists.  Sara Halbich (Salem, N.H.) scored a pair of goals, while Ellie Morin (Scarborough, Maine) handed out three assists.

Meghan Smith led Saint Anselm with four goals and a pair of assists, while Shawna Walsh totaled three goals.

SNHU jumped out to a 4-1 lead 11 minutes into the game following a goal by Dube, but goals by Shawna Walsh and Brittini Hickman for the Hawks made it 4-3 with 15:09 remaining in the first half.  The Penmen scored the last four goals of the stanza, and Clark's goal 3:06 before halftime made it 8-3 at the break.

The Penmen would open the game up by scoring three times in the first 3:32 of the second half to make it 11-3.  Clark scored 2:11 into the frame, then Mongeau would convert a free position attempt 15 seconds later.  Halbich would score with 26:28 remaining to give Southern New Hampshire an eight-goal advantage.  Saint Anselm scored the next two goals to pull within six, but the Penmen used a 5-0 burst capped by a Halbich goal with 15:22 to go to make it 16-5.

SNHU goalie Hannah Moriarty (Chelmsford, Mass.) made 14 saves en route to the victory, while Hawk counterpart Katherine O'Hara made 10 saves.  The Penmen held a slight 36-35 shot advantage on the evening.

SNHU is idle until April 6 when it hosts Merrimack College in a 4:00 contest at Larkin Field.
