Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –Southern New Hampshire University took both ends of a baseball doubleheader from Felician College at Santaluces Sports Complex Wednesday afternoon.  The Penmen posted an 8-3 victory in the opener, then completed the sweep with a 7-1 win in game two.  SNHU is now 7-5 on the season, while the Golden Falcons are 8-7.

SNHU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one.  A single by Albert Stanton (Sandwich, Mass.) plated Jamie Wollerman (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.).  Tim Rines (Merrimack, N.H.) would also score on the play following a Felician error.  Robert Wronski (Arlington, Mass.) then singled to plate Stanton.

Felician would cut the lead to 3-2 in the top of the third, but Southern New Hampshire responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame.  A two-out triple by Chris O'Neil (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored Rines and Matt Boulter (Wrentham, Mass.).  Rines had led off the inning with a single, while Boulter worked a walk with two away.

The Penmen tacked on another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.  In the fifth, a Boulter triple would plate Stanton to make it 6-3.  After the Golden Falcons scored in the top of the sixth, a Juan Amador (Derry, N.H.) double would score Kevin Spatkowski (Bristol, Conn.), who led off with a single up the middle.  Rines would drive in Amador with a two-out single.

Rines and Amador each finished with two hits as SNHU outhit Felician 9-7.  Bryant Gauthier (Lynn, Mass.) worked the first six innings on the mound for the Penmen and scattered seven hits while surrendering three runs (all earned).  He struck out one while walking three.  Sam Fuller (Barre, Vt.) worked three perfect innings of relief to pick up the save, fanning three.

In the nightcap, Southern New Hampshire staked itself to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when an Amador triple scored Jon Massad (Shrewsbury, Mass.), who reached on a two-out hit by pitch.  The Penmen tacked on three runs in the third.  Stanton reached with one out when he was hit by a pitch and scored on a double to right by Wronski.  O'Neil and Spatkowski would also drive runs in in the frame.

SNHU made it 5-0 in the fourth when Wollerman reached on a one-out single and scored on a single down the left field line by Stanton.  Felician got a run back in the fifth, but the Penmen scored twice in the seventh.  Massad and Amador reached on back-to-back singles and both would later score on a Golden Falcon error.

Brad Monroe (Hampton Falls, N.H.) went the distance in the seven-inning contest for Southern New Hampshire, allowing just three hits and fanning nine with one walk.  The Penmen outhit the Golden Falcons 11-3
