Box Score LOWELL, MASS.- The Southern New Hampshire volleyball team dropped a Northeast-10 Conference match against UMass Lowell Thursday night with a score of 1-3. The Penmen are now 9-6 overall and 1-2 in the league while the River Hawks are 6-7 and 1-3 in conference play.
SNHU would beat the UMass Lowell in the first game by a score of 25-12, but the River Hawks would take the next three with game scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-19.
The Penmen got a double-double out of senior captain Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) who totaled 14 kills and 11 digs on the night. Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) added 13 kills while Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) contributed 10. Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) led SNHU with 16 digs, and setter Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas), dished out 38 assists.
The River Hawks were led by Sierra Brown who posted a match-high 15 kills . Ella Merrill added 13 kills along with 12 digs, and setter Olivia Perkins tallied 37 assists en route to the win.
The Penmen return to action Saturday, October 6 when they travel to Southern Connecticut for a 12:00 p.m. league matchup.
