HANOVER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Sunday, falling to Division I Stony Brook University 7-0 at the Boss Tennis Center. The Penmen are now 6-1 overall, while the Seawolves evened their record at 1-1 on the season.
Freshman Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) captured the first set at No. 3 singles but eventually fell to SBU's Katherine Hanson 5-7, 6-4, 6-1. Vamvakitis and Jamie Hann (Westhampton, N.Y.) played in the closest doubles match of the afternoon, dropping an 8-5 decision to Hanson and Salome Mkervalidze.
Southern New Hampshire is idle until March 3 when it travels to Palm Beack Atlantic University to kick off a four-match Florida swing.
