Women's Lacrosse Upends No. 15 Molloy 10-9

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.Phoebe Clark (Concord, N.H.) scored with 1:45 remaining to lift Southern New Hampshire University to a 10-9 women's lacrosse victory over No. 15 Molloy College Saturday afternoon at the Dean Skelos Complex.  The Penmen improve to 2-6 with the victory, while the Lions are 3-6 on the season.

Clark finished with a pair of goals.  Emily Mongeau (Westborough, Mass.) led Southern New Hampshire with three goals and a pair of assists, while Emily King (Florence, Mass.) also finished with a pair of goals.  Ellie Morin (Scarborough, Maine) finished with a goal and an assist, while Kayleigh Dube (Bourne, Mass.) and Justine Clark (Oceanside, N.Y.) each added single tallies.

Emily Antonette led Molloy with three goals, while Alexa Toscano finished with two goals and an assist and Kaitlynn Kelly two goals.

Trailing 7-6 following a Molloy goal 20 seconds into the second half, Southern New Hampshire reeled off three straight goals and a King tally with 23:13 remaining gave the Penmen a 9-7 lead.  The Lions scored the next two goals and Toscano tied the game with 2:28 left in regulation.  Phoebe Clark controlled the ensuing draw and scored with 1:45 left.  The Penmen would regain possession when Clark again controlled the draw, and SNHU would run out the clock.

Back-to-back goals by Antonette and Toscano scored 1:27 apart late in the first half to give Molloy a 6-3 lead with 5:20 left before intermission.  The Penmen scored three unanswered goals in the final 4:22, and Phoebe Clark's tally with 1:04 to go before the break knotted the game 6-6 at halftime.

Kellie Renk (Kennebunk, Maine) turned aside 11 shots to earn the win in goal for Southern New Hampshire, while Molloy goalie Caitlin Cooksey made 11 saves.  The Penmen outshot the Lions 35-28.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday night when it travels to Merrimack College for a 7:00 contest.
