WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Sarah Mangone and Alexis Gabbe each totaled four goals and an assist to lead seventh-ranked University of New Haven to a 20-6 Northeast-10 women's lacrosse victory over Southern New Hampshire University at Kayo Field Saturday afternoon.  The Chargers improved to 11-2 and 6-2 in the NE-10, while the Penmen now stand 3-9 and 2-7 in the league.

In addition to Mangone and Gabbe, the Chargers got three goals and seven assists from Ashley Ferrandiz and three goals from Kristina Curry.

Southern New Hampshire was led by Sara Halbich (Salem, N.H.) who totaled three goals.  Jade Antonangeli (Bourne, Mass.) finished with a pair of goals, while Emily King (Florence, Mass.) had the other Penmen tally.

The two teams traded the game's first four goals before New Haven scored the final eight goals of the first half to build a 10-2 advantage at intermission.  The Chargers tacked on another six goals over the first 19 minutes of the second half to open up a 16-2 lead before Halbich snapped the hosts' string with her goal with 9:28 left.

Maureen Spellman played the first 52:16 in goal for New Haven and made five saves before giving way to Diana Kraus, who did not make a save the rest of the way.  Kellie Renk (Kennebunk, Maine) turned aside eight shots for Southern New Hampshire as the Chargers outshot the Penmen 41-13.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Stonehill College for a 4:00 contest.
