Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H. – A three-run home run by Matt Boulter (Wrentham, Mass.) in the top of the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie and propelled sixth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University to a 5-2 Northeast-10 baseball victory over Saint Anselm College Wednesday afternoon at Sullivan Park.  The Penmen improved to 33-6 overall and 9-3 in the NE-10's Northeast Division, while the Hawks now stand 18-19-1 and 6-4-1 in division play.

Tied 2-2 entering the seventh, Riley Palmer (Goffstown, N.H.) worked a one-out walk and proceeded to steal second with two away.  Kevin Spatkowski (Bristol, Conn.) worked a walk before Boulter hit his first home run of the season to right to make it a 5-2 game.  Boulter now has 42 runs batted in this season, tying the program single-season record set by Chris O'Neil last season.

Saint Anselm touched Penmen starter Tim Flight (Portsmouth, R.I.) (pictured) for three hits and a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, with a two-run single by Daniel DeCoste bringing in Richie Manzi and Tito Lluberes.

SNHU got a run back in the second when a sacrifice fly by Bryan Toland (Wildwood, N.J.) scored Andy Lalli (Lakeville, Mass.), who had led off with a single.  Lalli tied the game when he led off the sixth with a home run to straightaway center.

After the first, Flight settled down and allowed just one more hit, a Manzi single to lead off the eighth.  In eight innings, Flight allowed four hits and two runs, striking out 10 while walking five.  Tyler Gauthier (Lynn, Mass.) worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save.

Lalli, Greg Pezzuto (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.), and Brendan O'Brien (East Bridgewater, Mass.) each had two hits for Southern New Hampshire as the Penmen outhit the Hawks 9-4.  Manzi had two of Saint Anselm's four hits on the afternoon.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Friday when it travels to Bentley University for a 3:30 Northeast-10 contest.  That game was originally scheduled for Sunday but moved up due to a forecast of inclement weather.  The two teams are still slated for a noon twin bill on Saturday.
