LYNDHURST, N.J. – No. 20 Southern New Hampshire University closed out the regular season by sweeping Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference regular season champion Felician College by scores of 11-0 and 1-0 in non-league baseball action Sunday afternoon.  The Penmen upped their record to 38-12 overall, while the Golden Falcons fell to 25-22 on the season.

Despite having the best record in the East Region, with a 12-9 Northeast-10 Northeast Division mark, the Penmen missed qualifying for the NE-10 Tournament that starts Tuesday.  SNHU has been ranked No. 1 in the East Region in each of the past two weeks and will receive word on the program's potential first-ever NCAA Tournament berth next Sunday evening (May 13).

In the opener, the Penmen pounded out 17 hits as they scored in all but the fourth, sixth and ninth innings.  Leading 4-0 entering the seventh, Southern New Hampshire scored six times to build a 10-0 lead.  SNHU collected six hits, including a two-run single by Brendan O'Brien (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and a ground-rule double by Matt Boulter (Wrentham, Mass.) that plated O'Brien.  Jamie Wollerman (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) and Bryan Toland (Wildwood, N.J.) also had RBI hits in the inning.

Toland and Greg Pezzuto (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.) each had three hits, while O'Brien, Toland and Boulter each drove in two runs.  Brad Monroe (Hampton, N.H.) went the distance and allowed just four hits, including just one in the first seven innings, and struck out 13 for the shutout, upping his record to 8-3.  His eight wins tie the single-season record set by Mark Perec in 1997.

O'Brien drove in the lone run of game two with two away in the fifth-inning of the seven-inning affair.  Toland singled to left with two outs, and after moving to second when Kyle McGinnity (Northborough, Mass.) was hit by a pitch, scored on O'Brien's single through the left side.

Tim Flight (Portsmouth, R.I.) allowed just two hits en route to the shutout while fanning 10 in his seven innings of work, upping his record to 7-1.  The Penmen recorded just three hits in the nightcap, with Boulter's leadoff single in the fourth the other SNHU hit.
