THE PENMEN: Southern New Hampshire is coming of a 9-0 victory over Franklin Pierce...the win got the defending Northeast-10 conference champion Penmen off to a 1-0 start...defending Northeast-10 player of the Year, No.1 singles Alena Mukdaprakorn won the No.1 singles match 6-3 and 6-0 over Franklin Pierce's Natasha McCarthy...Diana Vamvakitis would also triumph in singles while at the No. 2 spot with set scores of 6-0 and 6-0 over Raven Kirby Melbourne...Amanda Albuquerque Also added to the Penmen win when she defeated Melissa Cohen in the third spot with set scores of 6-0 and 6-1...In doubles action, No. 1 pair Alena Mukdaprakorn and Diana Vamvakitis defeated Raven's Kirby Melbourne and Melissa Cohen 8-0...The second spot featuring Penmen Amanda Albuquerque and Yolanda Green would also defeat the Raven No.2 duo of Natasha McCarthy and Leslie Rodgers... Southern New Hampshire Jamie Hann and Kirsten Jean would complete the doubles sweep in the third double spot while blanking Aubrey Lovejoy and Christine Boulanger of Franklin Pierce 8-0.
THE GREYHOUNDS: Assumption opens Northeast-10 conference play against the Penmen...the Greyhounds are seeking their first win of the season after an 0-3 start...Assumption returns five players from last seasons squad while adding four newcomers...junior Erica Micciche posted an 11-8 overall singles record last season while going 8-2 in conference singles play...she also added a 9-11 overall doubles record...Paige Gilet helped the Greyhounds by posting an 8-12 singles record overall while also posting a 7-8 record in doubles overall.
THE SERIES: Southern New Hampshire is 7-4 all-time against the Greyhounds...SNHU currently holds a seven match win streak over the Greyhounds
