MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire
women's cross country team opened its season Saturday at the
Shacklette Invitational hosted by Saint Anselm College. The Penmen
finished fourth out of seven teams.
Penmen junior Madeline Hayes (Newington, Conn.)
finished amongst the top five runners in the race coming in
4th place. She ran a 5K time of 19:42.
Freshman Stacey Wojcik (Wrentham, Mass.)
finished just two second shy of the top ten while coming in
11th place out of 82 with a time of 20:31.
Christina Montefusco (Danvers, Mass.) would be
the next Penmen finisher coming in at 41st place with a
time of 22:52, and Kelsey Parker (Tewksbury,
Mass.) would finish just forty seconds later at 49th
place with a 23:38 time.
Stonehill took home first place in the race. The top three
runners belonged to the Skyhawks while coming in at times of 19:17,
19:34, and 19:35.
The Penmen return to action September 15, when they travel to
UMass Dartmouth for the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The race
start time is 12:45 p.m.
