WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team placed second out of 38 schools at the James Earley Invitational held Saturday at Stanley Park.
Senior Maddie Hayes (Newington, Conn.) led the Penmen as she placed 12th overall with a season-best 5K time of 19:20. Sophomore Abigail MacBeth (Cumberland, R.I.) posted a career-best time of 19:33 to finish 15th overall, while classmate Stacey Wojcik (Wrentham, Mass.) placed 19th with a time of 19:51. Freshman Laura O'Hanlon (Dedham, Mass.) posted a time of 19:58 to finish 24th.
Senior Tesia Stanasek (Blackstone, Mass.) posted a time of 20:28 to finish 49th overall, while junior Melissa Stacom (Massapequa, N.Y.) was 67th with a 20:46 effort. Sophomore Sarah Hassett (Brewster, Mass.) came in 188th with a 22:52 effort, while senior Kelsey Parker (Tewksbury, Mass.) came home at 23:10 to finish 204th overall and round out the Penmen scorers.
Southern New Hampshire, ranked No. 5 in this week's USTFCCCA East Region poll, returns to action Sunday, October 27 at the Northeast-10 Championship hosted by Saint Anselm College.
