GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team was defeated by non-conference opponent No. 44 Concordia College Sunday evening by a score of 6-3. The Penmen are now 8-6, while the Clippers improve to 12-0 on the season.
The Penmen would take one doubles match from the Clippers, while Concordia would win four out of six matches in singles play.
In singles play, Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) would defeat Alla Kravchuk in the No. 2 spot by a score of 6-0, and 7-5, and Yolanda Green (Springfield, Mass.) would get the other Penmen point with a tiebreaker win over Estelle Fougeray in No. 6 singles.
In doubles action, the No. 1 duo of Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) and Vamvakitis defeated the No. 2 regionally ranked pair of Yuliya Plevako and Luisa Candido by a score of 8-4.
The Penmen return to action Saturday, March 23 when they travel to the University of New Haven for an Northeast-10 Conference 11:00 a.m. match.
