MANCHESTER, N.H.Ellie Morin (Scarborough, Maine) totaled six goals and three assists to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a 15-12 Northeast-10 women's lacrosse triumph against Merrimack College Monday evening at Larkin Field.  The Penmen won their third straight to even their record at 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the NE-10, while the Warriors are now 0-4 overall and in the league.

Southern New Hampshire led 9-5 at halftime and extended its lead to 13-7 with 17:45 to play following a man-up goal by Bucknam.  Merrimack reeled off four unanswered goals, and an Olivia Huie tally with 7:12 to go made it 13-11, before Morin snapped the Warrior run with her goal with 5:11 to go.  Pino pulled the guests back within two with 1:04 left, and Merrimack controlled the ensuing draw, but a shot by Liz Greeley with 44 seconds to go was stopped by Penmen goalie Maria Ploof (Middlebury, Vt.).  King scored with three seconds left to close out the scoring.

The Penmen never trailed, scoring the game's first two goals in the first 2:32 of the contest.  Merrimack tied the game twice, at 2-2 and 3-3, but goals by King at 19:58 and Clark at 17:45 gave the hosts a 5-3 lead.  Southern New Hampshire scored the final two goals of the frame, and a goal by King 10 seconds before intermission gave it an 8-5 halftime advantage.

Ploof went the distance in goal for SNHU and made 15 saves.  Merrimack counterpart Inna Hedden worked the first half and the final 15:15 of the second half and made 10 saves while surrendering 10 goals.  Sam Kiesel played the first 14:45 of the second half and made three saves while allowing five goals, getting tagged with the loss.  The Penmen held a 37-34 shot advantage, controlled 15 of 26 draws, and collected 21 of the game's 40 ground balls.

Southern New Hampshire's Wednesday afternoon contest at Saint Michael's College has been postponed due to the forecast of snow in the area this week, and is tentatively slated for Thursday, March 21 at 3:00.
