VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

MANCHESTER, N.H.
– Freshman Alexa Allen (East Longmeadow, Mass.) snapped an 11-11 tie with her goal with 3:40 remaining as Southern New Hampshire University downed Assumption College 13-11 in Northeast-10 women's lacrosse Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field.  The Penmen, who have won five straight games, improve to 5-3 and 4-0 in the NE-10, while the Greyhounds, who are receiving votes in this week's IWLCA poll, drop to 5-2 and 2-2 in the league.

SNHU's five-game win streak is its longest since 2010 and matches the second-longest in the 10-year history of the program.  The Penmen reeled off a six-game win streak in 2008.

Allen finished with a pair of goals, while the Penmen were led by Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.), who scored five times on the afternoon.  Ellie Morin (Scarborough, Maine) netted three goals while Jenna Crupi (Albany, N.Y.), Kayleigh Dube (Bourne, Mass.) and Phoebe Clark (Concord, N.H.) each recorded single goals.

Assumption was led by Amy McNeil's four goals, while Molly Brown and Camille Auger each scored twice.

Southern New Hampshire held an 11-7 lead with 14:08 to play following a Bucknam free position goal, but the Hounds scored four unanswered goals over the next 8:24, and a Kathryn Beall tally with 4:16 left tied the game 11-11.  Bucknam would control the ensuing draw and Allen's second goal of the game gave the Penmen the lead for the final time.  Ambra Maymon (Longmeadow, Mass.) came up with the ensuing draw control for the hosts, and after running over two minutes off the clock, Morin added an insurance tally with 1:37 to go.

Southern New Hampshire never trailed as it raced out to a 6-0 lead 18:07 into the game.  Assumption scored the final three goals of the first half and a Brown goal 58 seconds before intermission made it 6-3 at the break.  The guests scored the first three goals of the second stanza and McNeil's free position goal with 22:02 to play tied the game.  Morin reclaimed the lead for the Penmen 59 seconds later and Southern New Hampshire scored five of the game's next six goals to build an 11-7 lead.

Maria Ploof (Middlebury, Vt.) made seven saves in goal for Southern New Hampshire, while Assumption's Michelle Monahan turned aside 13 shots as the Penmen held a 31-22 shot advantage.  The Penmen had 16 of the game's 26 draw controls and had just eight turnovers while the Greyhounds had 17 giveaways.

Southern New Hampshire is idle until next Friday, March 29 when it travels to ninth-ranked Le Moyne for a noon contest.
