ALBANY, N.Y. – A dominant second half performance from the Southern New Hampshire men's lacrosse team was the difference as the Penmen defeated Saint Rose by a score of 9-5 Saturday evening in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Penmen are now 5-7 overall and 5-3 in league play, while the Golden Knights fall to 3-9 and 3-5 in the conference.

Southern New Hampshire took an early 1-0 lead in the first quarter when Taylor Warden (Concord, N.H.) scored from Cameron Joyce (Braintree, Mass.). However, the Golden Knights answered with two goals to end the quarter with a 2-1 lead.

In the second frame, Joyce, John Cuozzo (Norfolk, Mass.), and Corey Allen (Suffield, Conn.) each notched a goal to regain the lead and end the half with a 4-3 advantage.

SNHU outscored Saint Rose 5-2 in the second half to win the game. The third quarter was dominated by the Penmen offense as Ryan Woodford (Scituate, Mass.) and Warden each recorded a tally to take a three-goal lead.

In the final quarter, Saint Rose scored an early goal just 31 seconds in, but Rob Murray (Marblehead, Mass.) quickly answered, followed by Warden's third score of the game. The Golden Knights scored once more in the quarter, and Joyce finalized the game with his second goal of the game.

Crosby Nicholson (Andover, Mass.) got the win in goal for the Penmen while recording nine saves in a complete game, while Nick Longo saw the majority of time in net for Saint Rose with 15 saves. The Penmen outshot Saint Rose 46-30.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday, April 17 when it travels to Bentley University for a 7:00p.m. league game.
