Box Score RINDGE, N.H. – Emily King (Florence, Mass.) scored a career-best six goals as Southern New Hampshire University downed Franklin Pierce University 16-6 in Northeast-10 women's lacrosse Tuesday afternoon at Sodexo Field. The Penmen snapped a seven-game slide and improved to 6-10 and 5-6 in NE-10 play, while the Ravens are 3-10 and 2-8 in the league.
Ellie Morin (Scarborough, Maine) handed out six assists to go along with her three goals, tying a program record for assists in a game done six times by three players, most recently by Emily Mongeau in 2011. Ambra Maymon (Longmeadow, Mass.) also scored three times for the Penmen. Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.) had two goals, while Jenna Crupi (Albany, N.Y.) and Phoebe Clark (Concord, N.H.) each added single tallies.
Ashley Lamagdeleine and Lauren Beville each scored twice for Franklin Pierce.
Southern New Hampshire scored the game's first six goals, with Crupi's goal 12:19 into the game giving the Penmen a six-goal lead. Beville broke the string with her tally at 15:24, but the Penmen closed out the half with seven unanswered, and Morin's goal 39 seconds before halftime gave the guests a 13-1 lead at intermission. The Penmen maintained a double-digit advantage the entire second half.
Maria Ploof (Middlebury, Vt.) went the distance in goal for Southern New Hampshire and made nine saves. Julia Coakley played the first half in goal for Franklin Pierce and made four saves, while Jacqueline Jolles made a pair of stops in the second half. SNHU outshot the Ravens 28-17.
Southern New Hampshire closes out its season Saturday with a noon game at American International College.
