Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Kelsey Reilly finished with four goals as ninth-ranked Stonehill College downed Southern New Hampshire University 16-8 in Northeast-10 women's lacrosse Wednesday night at Larkin Field. The Skyhawks are now 7-3 and 6-1 in the NE-10, while the Penmen sit 5-5 and 4-2 in the league.
Reilly was one of four Skyhawks to finish with multiple goals, with Kelsey Shannahan and Heather Sullivan each recording three goals and an assist, while Kayla Green notched three goals.
Emily King (Florence, Mass.) paced Southern New Hampshire with three goals, while Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.) scored twice. Alexa Allen (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Phoebe Clark (Concord, N.H.) and Ambra Maymon (Longmeadow, Mass.) each recording single tallies.
Reilly scored the game's first goal at the 22:32 mark of the first half for Stonehill, but SNHU tied the game 11 seconds later on a King goal. Another 11 seconds elapsed before Green scored for the Skyhawks to give them a 2-1 advantage. King scored at 20:37 after two SC goals to make it 4-2, but the guests reeled off the final six goals of the first half and took a 10-2 lead into intermission.
Allen converted a free position goal 2:23 into the second half, but any hopes of a Penmen comeback were dashed as Stonehill scored the next three goals and built a 15-4 lead midway through the period.
Ashley Armstrong made eight saves in goal for Stonehill, while SNHU goalie Maria Ploof (Middlebury, Vt.) made four stops. The Skyhawks outshot the Penmen 27-26.
Southern New Hampshire faces its third straight nationally-ranked opponent Saturday when it hosts No. 5 Adelphi University on Saturday in a 4:00 contest at Larkin Field.
