THE PENMEN: Southern New Hampshire enters Wednesday's conference matchup in search of its first Northeast-10 Conference victory of the season...the Penmen offense continues to be led by junior Kaitlyn Ramsey (Warren, Mass.) and freshman Amaris Taylor (Tulsa, Okla.) who have each notched a goal and three assists thus far for five points...junior Cassandra Nickerson (Newton, N.H.) has seen the majority of the time in the Penmen cage, registering 93 saves and a .650 save-percentage in 548:27...freshman goalkeeper Jill Piacitelli (East Greenwich, R.I.) has seen action in four of Southern New Hampshire's previous five contests, turning aside 65 shots and posting a .774 save-percentage during that span.
HEAD COACH JULIE MUNSON: Julie Munson was named the first head field hockey coach at SNHU in over 30 years on August 23, 2013...Prior to arriving at SNHU, Munson spent three seasons at Harvard University and six seasons at James Madison University... With the Crimson, Munson handled recruiting duties and served as acting head coach for the program in the spring of 2012 as Harvard went through a head coaching change...With the Dukes, Munson, a former collegiate goalkeeper at the University of New Hampshire, guided the team's goalies to lead the nation in goals against average (0.75) and shutouts (11) in 2008 while ranking second in save percentage (.820)...Munson played at New Hampshire from 2000-03 and was an assistant captain her senior season.
THE YELLOW JACKETS: American International College heads into Wednesday after back-to-back 3-2 victories over Southern Connecticut State University and Franklin Pierce University...senior Jenna Masionis (Ashland, Mass.) has tallied 10 goals and handed out three assists for 23 points to head up the Yellow Jacket attack...junior Erica McLean (Branford, Conn.) and sophomore Taylor Ruscillo (Carle Place, N.Y.) have also recorded double-digit points this season with 11 (5, 1a) and 10 (5g), respectively...junior Ainslee Penfield (Greenfield, Mass.) has played every second of the AIC season in goal and owns a 2.23 goals against average and a .780 save-percentage.
WHAT'S NEXT: Southern New Hampshire will hit the road for its next three games, beginning with a trip to Franklin Pierce on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Penmen will then head to LIU Post on Tuesday, Nov. 4 for a 4 p.m. face-off with the Pioneers before traveling to Merrimack College on Friday, Nov. 7 for a 4:30 p.m. contest with the Warriors.
