BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Led by sophomore Laura O'Hanlon's (Dedham, Mass.) fifth-place finish, the Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team placed 11th at the 2014 Paul Short Collegiate Invitational at Lehigh University. The Penmen competed in the women's white race, which consisted of 35 teams and 308 student-athletes.
O'Hanlon posted a top-five finish for the second time in three races, navigating the course in 22:31 on Saturday. Junior Stacey Wojcik (Wrentham, Mass.) also posted a top-20 finish for the Penmen, completing the race in 23:07 to cross the line 16th.
Junior Abigal MacBeth (Cumberland, R.I.) was the third SNHU finisher on Saturday, recording a time of 23:36. Freshman Kaitlin McCauley (Waltham, Mass.) traversed the terrain in 25:01 and classmate Felicia Dowling (Merrimack, N.H.) was right behind her in 25:04. Freshman Alicia Cutter (East Bridgewater, Mass.) rounded out the Penmen competitors with a time of 26:13.
Southern New Hampshire returns is back in action on Oct. 11 when it travels to Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. For the James Earley Invitational.
