NASHUA, N.H. — Led by a pair of United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) all-region selections, the Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team finished eighth at the 2014 NCAA Division II Cross Country East Regional Championship on Saturday at Mine Falls Park. The six-kilometer race was comprised of 185 student-athletes from 27 institutions.
Junior Stacey Wojcik (Wrentham, Mass.) and sophomore Laura O'Hanlon (Dedham, Mass.) picked up all-region accolades for the second consecutive season, as they both finished in the top-25 on Saturday. Wojcik led the Penmen with a 15th-place performance, finishing in 22:26, and O'Hanlon checked in right behind Wojcik in 22:27, good enough for No. 17 overall.
Junior Abigail MacBeth (Cumberland, R.I.) navigated the terrain in a time of 23:04 to finish No. 35. Senior Melissa Stacom (Massapequa, N.Y.) was next across the finish line for Southern New Hampshire as she clocked an official time of 24:43, while freshman Kaitlin McCauley (Waltham, Mass.) completed the course in 24:48 to round of the list of Penmen competitors.
